Urban Renewal IS Funded By Taxes

October 24, the Hayden Urban Renewal Agency (HURA) proposed to increase the size of their district. It's a big, messy, complicated, bundle of governmental overreach. But let me make one thing clear...Urban Renewal IS funded by property taxes. Take a look at the Kootenai County Government website pictured below and it shows that in 2020 the Hayden Urban Renewal Agency (HURA) got $873, 354.00 from taxes. I heard recently that it's up to $1,000,000 a year now. With the proposed increase in their district, it's sure to increase even more in the future.

Taxes do not come out of thin air.

Taxes come from taxpayers.

You are the taxpayer.
