A perfect example of Sandy White leading the people...

Updated: Oct 17, 2025

I’ve noticed some social media posts criticizing times I’ve voted “no” over the past few years. Of course, every elected official should be accountable for their record. But it’s worth noting that these sudden attacks are surfacing just one month before a pivotal election.

In addition, my accusers are only giving partial information and are also making straw-man arguments. Those posts leave out the good reasons why I voted the way I did. Each decision I make on City Council comes down to three guiding principles:

  • Transparency – so residents can see clearly how decisions are made.

  • Accountability – to protect taxpayers, property rights, and the integrity of our city.

  • Good Governance – to ensure Hayden is financially stable today and into the future.

That sometimes means I’ve stood alone, asking tough questions or pressing for clarity before moving forward. I don’t apologize for that. Leadership isn’t about always going along with the majority; it’s about standing firm when it matters most. I am not a rubber-stamper.

Proverbs 18:17 says, “The first one to plead his cause seems right, Until his neighbor comes and examines him.” So it’s important to investigate before jumping to conclusions.

So yes, you’ll see many examples of me voting differently than some of my colleagues. That’s not obstruction. That’s me doing exactly what I was elected to do: looking out for the best interests of Hayden residents without fanfare.

And while I’ve been busy doing the work, it’s worth noting that I only remember seeing my opponent at one City Council meeting in the last 4 years. Even before I was elected, I was coming to meetings, making public comment, and affected positive change.

At the end of the day, my record shows consistency.

I'm here to serve you, the Hayden voter.
