Hayden, Idaho, August 17, 2021--- Sandy White is running for Hayden City Council.
My name is Sandra “Sandy” White and I’m running for Hayden City Council. My goals are to preserve Hayden’s small-town feel, protect private property rights, and stop taxation to pay for new growth.
I’ve been married to my husband, Alan, for 40 years, and we have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. We moved to Hayden over seven years ago after teaching overseas for 24 years. We have relatives in Hayden and have visited often over the years, so our moving here was a natural transition for us when a local non-profit invited us to come and join their team. Upon moving here we were able to buy our first little house and we are enjoying life in Hayden.
Growing up, my family has always been patriotic and constitutional. Since moving to Hayden, I’ve been more involved in Idaho politics. I’ve been noticing issues that were encroaching on homeowner property rights. I realized that changes were needed in our local government. I started going to local County Commissioner and City Council meetings, writing letters, and being engaged.
Last April we were one of the 1,700 Hayden residents that received a “Notice of Zone Change” and I started researching what was involved with that. My research uncovered the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and the new Future Land Use Map that promotes an increase in both population and density in developed and undeveloped areas in H
ayden. After going to many Hayden City Council meetings, I realized that there needs to be a change, and I am part of that change. Vote for me on November 2, 2021.
I look forward to using my college education, my life experiences, and my integrity to serve my community.
