Vote for Life

Updated: May 17

This May 19 election is key to the future direction of the Republican Party. Please be sure to vote, because so much depends on it.

We can disagree on many things, but if you’re running for a position within the Republican Party, it seems reasonable that you would support the principles outlined in the Idaho Republican Party Platform, including this statement from the Preamble:

“We believe human life begins at conception and is protected by the unalienable rights endowed by our Creator along with the fundamental right to life and shall not be infringed upon.”

My opponent for Precinct 318 is listed as having signed a petition to place abortion on the ballot for the upcoming November election. I believe that action is inconsistent with the values and principles clearly stated in our party platform.

This election is not about personalities or political games. It is about whether Republican voters will be represented by people who genuinely support the platform and values of the Republican Party. Those values include protecting innocent life, defending constitutional freedoms, and preserving the conservative principles that make our communities strong.

Previously, my opponent held the position of President of the League of Women Voters (LWV). The LWV website states that the organization is "proud to partner with leaders in the abortion rights space to promote everyone's right to bodily autonomy. Restoring reproductive rights is a core principle of our Women's Inequality Day campaign." (https://www.lwv.org/other-issues/health-care-reform)

From the LWV website. Liberty and justice for who? Certainly not the unborn.

As Republicans, we should expect transparency and consistency from those who seek to represent us. Voters deserve to know where candidates stand and whether their actions align with the principles they claim to support.

I have always worked to serve this community with integrity, transparency, and respect for the voters I represent. As a former Hayden City Council member and longtime volunteer, I understand the importance of listening to people, standing firm in my convictions, and doing the work required to protect conservative values here in Kootenai County.

The future direction of our local Republican Party matters. Your vote matters. I would be honored to earn your vote on May 19.
